Join the Leadership Council

The Leadership Council is open to all Palmer members. There are many ways to serve and we’d like this to be an outlet for your passion. Whether you wish to focus on one area, fill a need that you’ve identified, or serve as a member-at-large, we feel this group can provide Palmer Alumnae with the support and sisterhood to achieve our goals.

Expectations

A primary objective for our group is to have our efforts work with our lives and still allow us to have a positive impact that we can fulfill with both passion and commitment. The Palmer Society reputation for being engaged leaders on the Poet campus is legendary and our members take this ethic into their lives post-graduation. We don’t want to overburden anyone but we do want our members to find value— for both our effort and for themselves personally. It is ideal for our mission if each council member can find at least one of the committees or projects to serve in some capacity. Negotiating reasonable goals and time lines for this to happen is one of our top priorities as a group.

Structure

With our Palmer training behind us leaving us with many capable alumnae sister, the Leadership Council functions as a holacracy. This allows our volunteers to pitch in when they can fill a need the best based on their strengths. We currently refresh goals and service each January but volunteers are welcome to jump in at any time.
